A Waltz In The Woods, written and directed by Steffen Havik Taylor who also acts in the film. Phoenix was offered her role without needing to audition. Steffen expressed that he "wanted to see what she [Phoenix] was like to work with" as he was thinking about casting her in a series he's making. Needless to say he decided to cast Phoenix in his series too.

Synopsis:

A crazed serial killer chases down a young couple in a mockery of silly decisions characters make in horror films.

Girl, written and directed by Xiruo (Nicole) Chen. This short film stars

Phoenix as Jess. Phoenix was offered the lead role without having to audition. Later during shooting, Xiruo took Phoenix aside and said "I knew you were the right choice."

Synopsis:

Jess is a 15 year old girl stuck in an adults world. Jess is constantly pimped out by her Mother and her Mother's boyfriend, Jake. After running away she meets with her best friend Todd, only to have things turn for the worst.

Buzz cut

Buzz Cut, written and directed by Martin Renner. This feature film stars Phoenix alongside Donna Wilkes. The lead actress of hit movies Jaws 2 and Angel. Buzz Cut has amassed investment from China and distributors in Germany. Phoenix is playing 'Jemma/Snapper' - Lead role.

Synopsis:

After being invited to join the hash harriers on their run, Jemma and her newly made friends encounter a stinging reality. Doesn't help they just spent the entire weekend playing drinking games... Wonder if they survive the buzz?

13 Days To Midnight

13 Days to Midnight, based on the novel written by Patrick Carman. This film adaptation is being directed by Flynn Harris who Phoenix has worked with before on God we Were Idiots. Phoenix is playing Ophelia James a.k.a. 'Oh' - Lead female role.

Synopsis:

After the death of his foster Father, Jacob Fielding notices a strange ability that allows him to be indestructible. He passes it back and forth between his best friends Oh and Milo. Little does the trio know they're playing with something much more dangerous than they can handle.

Play Me

Play Me, written by Phoenix Cross and Jimi Colzato. An original being directed by one of Phoenix's favourite directors Jimi Colzato, who Phoenix has worked with many times. Phoenix is playing Kim the lead female role.

Synopsis:

There's a legend going round concerning a DVD. Apparently, if you watch it, you suddenly disappear. Greg and his group of friends don't believe this so they decide to watch it. But where does it go from there?

True Nature

True Nature, written by Doug Brooks, directed by Jimi Colzato. Phoenix is playing Leigh. The female lead.

Synopsis:

After being separated by their group, Leigh begins to suspect Kean is corrupt. Taking advantage of his followers. Leigh plans to buddy up to him in order to overthrow him. But do her plans succeed?

Faster Than a Viper's Strike

Faster Than A Viper's Strike, written and directed byJimi Colzato of Bay of Plenty Films. On the day of shooting Phoenix had a migraine and began screaming as she trained in her scene. When asked if she was okay afterwards, she merely said "Anything for the shot." Phoenix played Haven, lead of the film.

Synopsis:

Growing up with a single mother, Haven lived in poverty. She wanted nothing more than to box. Her Mother Kris, spent countless dollars on Haven's training. Only for Kris to get cancer. Now Haven fights for her Mother's life, aiming to win championship and the 25,000 dollars that comes with it to fund Kris' life saving operation.

Reunion

Reunion, a heartbreaking script written and directed by Jimi Colzato. Phoenix struggled with this role as she kept crying in performance. After being asked to stop by the director, she gave him just what he wanted. Phoenix is playing Kayla, the lead. 

Synopsis:

After almost fifteen years since the day Kayla's Mother Brenda mysteriously vanished, Kayla is confronted by her on her doorstep! Kayla can't forgive the grief Brenda caused the family. Forcing Kayla as the eldest to become the defacto Mother. How dare Brenda show her face.

Kokako

Kokako, written and directed by Doug Brooks. Kokako has peaked interest with the New Zealand Film Commission and re-shoots are being held in December 2019. So be sure to check back here to see further developments. Filmed in the beautiful Kahurangi Ranges, Nelson, New Zealand. Phoenix plays Ashley, lead of the film.

Synopsis:

After Ashley's Grandma falls terribly ill, Ashley makes her way to photograph the elusive Kokako. A New Zealand native bird that, to this day, is so rare, people aren't sure if it's extinct or not. Ashley and her Grandma believe it. Ashley will do anything to get that picture before it's too late.

She's Waiting

She's Waiting, written and directed by Logan McPheat in association with SAE Technology. Phoenix plays Rachel, female lead.

Synopsis:

Jacob has been kidnapped. He doesn't know where he is or why he's there. Suddenly his girlfriend Rachel is before him. Or is she?

She's Not For ME

She's Not For Me, written and directed by Rye Inglis. She's Not For Me is an LGBTQ+ film based on lesbian lovers. The film has amassed over 180 thousand views on YouTube. 

Synopsis:

Casey and Brooke haven't been dating long when things take a serious turn. One night Brooke discovers a school uniform in Casey's bag. She confronts Casey who admits she's been lying to Brooke this whole time...

Pressure

Pressure, written and directed by Anne Marie Lawler of Bay of Plenty Films. Phoenix working alongside fellow friend and actor David Liam. Although the film hits hard themes, the two friends had a lot of fun filming it. Phoenix plays Mandy, the lead.

 

Synopsis:

Mandy has had a hard day at high school and wants nothing more than to disappear into the arms of her older boyfriend Danny. That was until he started taking advantage of that.

Once more with muchness

Once More With Muchness, based off the famous book 'Alice in Wonderland' by Lewis Carol. This adaptation was written and directed by Rose McMahon. Phoenix had a wonderful time in this role as she needed to play a blind person. When asked how she did it, Phoenix responded 'I began solely reacting to sounds and touch. Most times leaving me starring at another actor's mouth as they spoke'. Phoenix plays the role of Alice, the lead.

Synopsis:

Alice is visiting her favourite cafe as she writes her newest story. Little does she know she's about to be interrupted by a peculiar man who may just become a life long friend.

Silent

Made for the International Silent Youth Film Festival, Anton Steel created this short trailer. Starring Phoenix as the lead girl. This was the first project Phoenix ever did professionally on film. 

 

Synopsis:

A 1920's tv show portrays the lead girl as the damsel in distress. Being hounded by her freaky co-stars of the circus! Luckily she's saved by the charming hero. But in reality, the only villain there is, is the lead girl herself.

God We Were Idiots

God We Were Idiots is a series written and directed by Flynn Harris, in association with Harris Entertainment Group. God We Were Idiots is where Phoenix met her now longtime partner, Adam Curlewis, who is also an actor. Phoenix plays Catherine, lead female. 

Synopsis:

Aaron Crosby is obsessed with being a cool kid, wanting nothing more than to go up the ranking system at school. The more girls you date, the more points you get. Aaron tries to enlist help from his friends to woo the new girl in school. Only to embarrass himself time and time again. 

FlatMate Wanted

Flatmate Wanted, written and directed by Lux Taylor, in association with Big Picture Minor Deets. This Rotorua based series is nothing short of funny and heartwarming. Available on YouTube. Phoenix plays Sofie, in the last episode of the series.

 

Synopsis:

Sophie is looking for a new flatmate. Follow her as she encounters many a kooky character until finally she meets Sofie. Sophie and Sofie? I know, confusing. But will she be the final flatemate Sophie has been looking for?

last Card

Last Card, written and directed by Jonah Dearden of Leeky Films. This film touches on suicide and serious themes of mental illness. Phoenix plays 

Abigail, the lead female. 

Synopsis:

Last Card explores the aftermath of a friend's sucicde. And what the wake is like for those left behind. 

Phoenix flat

Phoenix Flat, written, directed, created and filmed all by Phoenix Cross herself. Phoenix created Phoenix Flat as a way to take charge of her acting career. Getting sick of waiting to be cast, she decided to cast herself... as all five characters! 

 

Synopsis:

Phoenix is a YouTube vlogger who has recently moved into her new home. Living alongside four crazy characters. Hillary the valley girl, Emily the nerd, Papi the passionate latino and Dustin the cool guy. Watch as they go through their crazy lives.
